What's P.T.F.E

P.T.F.E. performs very temperature, electric and chemical resistance properties. Its perfect non-stick & self-lubricant property performs the lowest friction-coefficient in all the solid products. But its abrasion property, compression strength, cold flow resistance and many mechanical properties not so good. Therefore The P.T.F.E. compound materials keep the P.T.F.E. materials to obtain its good characters and improve the mechanical properties. Glass fiber, graphite, MoS2, bronze & carbon are popularly to be used as the fillers.

The Fillers

The properties of PTFE can be matched to very diverse applications by the addition of special filled. PTFE compounds extend the range of applications for PTFE and permit optimization of the material for specific end uses.

The incorporation of fillers changes the following properties:

◎ Compressive strength is increased 5-10 times.

◎ Wear resistance is increased up to 1000 times.

◎ The coefficient of linear thermal expansion is reduced by up to 80%.

◎ Thermal conductivity can be increased 5 times with some fillers.

◎ Volume resistivity and surface resistance can be reduced. However, the presence of fillers generally causes a reduction in tensile strength and break elongation. The service temperature range is not changed by the presence of fillers but chemical resistance may be affected, depending on the type of filler.
